The D Weddings editors stopped by the Shops at Highland Park this morning to check out the new Blushington Makeup & Beauty Lounge. The one-stop makeup shop offers a 45-minute makeup application for a flat fee of $40. My lovely makeup artist took her time explaining each product to me, along with tips and tricks for my own application process at home (ie, how to defy the pesky eyeshadow creases above my eyelid). You can also indulge in other primping services like faux eyelash application, eyelash extensions, camera-ready makeup (a longer application process for $10 more), and eyes-only for $30. They also offer maintenance such as eyelash/brow waxing, dyeing, and tweezing. Blushington sells the makeup they apply, so if you like what you see you can purchase products from lines such as Stila and Kevyn Aucoin.
For those of you who are curious about wedding parties, we got the scoop. The lounge charges $100 per person (max of one hour a ?maid). You can add on airbrushing for $20, or faux lash application for 15 extra bucks. If you?d prefer to get ready at home or at the wedding venue, Blushington will come to you for $100 per makeup artist. Call now to book your party.
