Retro Game Network | The New Retro Gaming Community - Jet Set ...

It seems that almost every classic game is getting ready to celebrate some kind of anniversary or special new high definition release. Which is EPIC for a site like ours, because we CRAVE this kind of stuff! Games like Mega Man, Kirby, Final Fantasy, even Tony Hawk Pro Skater, are having celebrations recently! All excellent games, but now, how about a piece of information in regards to yet another upcoming HD release: Jet Set Radio! (Or, for those in North America, ?Jet Grind Radio?).

For those that never played this Dreamcast game from 2000 (or the sequel ?Jet Set Radio Future? from 2002), it was one of the games that actually made me want to get a Dreamcast. I was a little late with getting the Dreamcast because there weren?t really all of that many exclusives that I wanted. Jet Set Radio and Seaman were the two games that made me decide to pork my money down on the system. In a way it was a more friendly, hip way of playing Grand Theft Auto, except instead of killing people and playing with hookers, you Rollerblade around Tokyo spraying your tags all over the city, causing a more innocent ruckus. Without a doubt, a really cool and unique idea, with excellent graphics (very crisp, even in old analog definition), and even more important, a truly kick ass soundtrack, which is why we are here today?

When it was announced that the title was getting released for updated systems, originally there was a problem with the soundtrack, in which certain tracks were not going to be able to be released with the update, due to licensing issues. We might be a little behind with reporting this, but it was recently discovered and confirmed that the entire soundtrack is slated to be part of the new release. (What? You want to know which soundtrack? Oh yeah, I forgot. The soundtrack varied depending on where you lived. I gotcha.) Well, how about the ultimate mecca, and ALL songs from ALL regions? You?re welcome.
